When we were South of the Border!
The Spring is hot as hell in Florida, so why not go somewhere even hotter. Guadalajara Mexico is a desert town with a shit ton of fun all around!
We flew on Volaris airlines from Orlando to GDL. The flight was like the Mexican Spirt air. No freebies, which isnt all that bad as long as you know how to plan for that type of travel. With your tickets you get a free checked bag, but you can exchange that for a midsized cabin bag, which allows you still only one more bag in the cabin (they dont allow more than 2 bags a passenger in the cabin) We chose to not check not because we dont trust the airline, but international flight is rough with camera gear, and tight deadlines. So we made sure we had all our bags in cabin with us. which for a week worked out.
We flew into meet up with our Friends Bert and Carmen. They had a very nice uber driver running chauffeur for us that night. Half way back to their place the driver insisted we stopped and got a beer. He was confirming out friendship by letting us drink in his car, It really is hard to believe that there are traffic laws in Mexico.
